The Registrar of an IPO or Initial Public Offer is the main part of processing the company’s IPO’s. These bodies are an independent financial institution which is registered with stock exchanges and SEBI. These bodies are appointed by the company which is going public.

The main role of a registrar while issuing an IPO includes processing the applications of IPO, distributing shares to the applicants as per SEBI guidelines, processing refunds through cheque and ECS, and transferring allocated shares to the applicant’s demand accounts.
