The e-market portal has accomplished a gross turnover of over Rs 1.12 crore in just eight months of its launch.
Khadi e-portal has successfully delivered orders to over 10,000 customers post it’s launch on 7th July 2020.
This is out of the 65,000 people who visited the e-portal so far.
Besides this, KVIC has also delivered over 1 lakh articles/commodities to these customers.
Moreover, the average online purchase stands at Rs 11,000 per customer indicating Khadi’s ever-growing popularity.
It also brings diversity on the table in terms of its product range to suit all segments of buyers.
This in turn provided a wide marketing platform for various Khadi and village industry products to a larger population.
However, the e-market portal aims to reach a turnover of Rs 200 crore per year.
Unlike other portals, KVIC takes care of all logistics and infrastructure support like cataloguing, product photoshoot and maintaining online inventory.
This also includes packaging and transportation of goods to the customers’ doorsteps.
Further, it safeguards Khadi artisans, institutions and PMEGP units manufacturing Khadi products from any financial burden.
In fact KVIC bears all the expenses incurred on operating Khadi e-portal.
Khadi’s online sale started with just Khadi Face Masks during the Covid-19 lockdown.
It has now evolved into a full-fledged E-market platform with nearly 800 products.
The product range includes hand-spun and hand-woven fine fabric like Muslin, Silk, Denim and Cotton, Unisex Vichar Vastra etc.
Others include trendy Modi Kurta & Jackets, Khadi’s Signature Wrist Watch, a variety of honey, Herbal and Green Tea.
